Shape Engine
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Shape Engine is a 2D engineering sandbox in which you can create mechanical machines from parts of different materials and joints between them.
How to Play
- Use WASD to move around and the scrollwheel to zoom in and out.
- To place a part, click the build button in the bottom right panel and select a material in the top left panel and a shape in the bottom left panel. Click and drag to place the part in the case of rectangles and circles, or click to place vertices in the case of polygons.
- To create joints, click the joint button in the bottom right panel and select a joint type in the top left panel. The nail icon is for fixing parts and the bearing icon is for making rotary joints. Click on a part to place a joint on it. If the part is on top of another, the joint will be made between the two.
- To toggle the simulation, press space.
